Just Baked is welcoming a new owner!!

We would like to officially announce that Just Baked Cupcakes & Coffee House has a new owner, Maggie Salemme.  As a lot of you may already know we have had a desire to open a location in Charleston SC with a different concept than Just Baked. We have recently received an offer on our business and decided, after careful consideration that we will accept the offer and pursue our dream in Charleston. This is a very bittersweet time for us, we have spent the past two years building relationships with all of our wonderful customers and it will be very hard to leave. We do find comfort in knowing that Maggie is very excited to start building relationships with each and everyone of you and is committed to keeping the same standard of quality that we strive to provide. The recipes and coffee menu will remain the same, but Maggie has also expressed a desire to add some new and exciting things to the business as well. We have spent the last two weeks training a very talented and wonderful baker Adrienne. If you have gotten cupcakes during the last two weeks then she has been the talent behind them. She will be working full time for Maggie as Head Baker. We have been so impressed with this young lady over the last two weeks, we only wish we had found her two years ago! We are planning a "meet the new owner" private party for all of our Facebook fans on September 4th. We will be closed during our regular business hours that day but will open the doors at 6pm for this event. There will be free cupcakes and adult beverages available for purchase. We hope that everyone will come out and give Maggie a big welcome!!

We would like everyone to know that we are truly grateful for all of you and for letting us be a small part of your lives. We will miss each and every one of you! We hope that you will stop in and see us next time you are in the Charleston area! REMINDER: ART SHOW WITH WINE AND CUPCAKE TASTING TOMORROW NIGHT!!!

This Monday we will be hosting our first Art show paired with our Wine and Cupcake Tasting.  We will be featuring "Wine to Water" This is not only an amazing wine but an organization with a great cause!! Check out their website to read about their story.

We will be introducing 4 new cupcake flavors tomorrow night.... Each cupcake will be paired with one of Wine to Water's wines. The cost for the Art Show is $10 per person and includes 5 wine and cupcake samplings. We hope you will all try and make it out to our  first tasting at our new location!!!!

Lime Chardonnay~Chardonnay cake filled with house made lime curd, topped with whipped chardonnay butter cream and sugared lime zest.
Chocolate Chip Strawberry Shortcake~Vanilla chocolate chip cake filled with strawberry sauce, topped with whipped vanilla butter cream, mini chocolate chips and a fresh strawberry slice.
Almond Apricot~Vanilla cake infused with fresh apricot sauce, topped with a whipped almond butter cream.
Salted Double Decker Chocolate~Chocolate cake infused with dark chocolate sauce, topepd with chocolate butter cream, dipped in ganache and finished with sea salt.

The History of Brooklyn Black Out Cake

For Black Friday we have a new flavor that's not only tasty but has a really neat history.....Chocolate Blackout Cake was developed in Brooklyn, New York during World War II, named after the blackout drills performed by the Civilian Defense Corps.

A Blackout was performed so Ships when sailing off to battle could not be spotted by enemy planes. City lights were turned off and windows were covered with black material. They had drills like fire drills to practice for the real thing.

Chocolate Blackout Cake is a rich chocolate cake that has a filling of Rich chocolate pudding and is frosted with the same rich pudding and covered with some of the cake crumbs, made popular by Ebinger's bakery that had stores in Brooklyn, New York.

Update on our new location....

We are so happy to announce that all of our plans have been accepted by Mecklenburg County and we have approval to start the work that we need to do. We are on track to open December 1st!!! It has been a rough couple of weeks but we made it through and we are even more excited about the new spot :) We will keep everyone updated on the progess, in the mean time come and see us at our current location..... We have some great Fall flavors and for the next couple of days Bebe Gallinis next door is doing a Holiday Open House. They have some really great stuff that you won't want to miss!
